Senior Commercial Finance Analyst (Overheads and DBM)

 

Our commercial finance team are looking for a Senior Commercial Finance Analyst for their team at Wellpark, Glasgow. This position is a key part of the finance team as you are the main point of contact for the overheads and DBM. We are looking for someone who is a qualified accountant with strong commercial experience. 

 

Although this role is based in Glasgow we are currently working agile, the role will be based in our Wellpark office however working from home is also available.

 

 

So what’s involved?

 

  • Control various cost management programmes
  • Line management responsibility for Finance Analyst and Finance Administrator
  • Development of the direct reports.
  • Provide insight and real time analysis of variances to agreed budgets or QFRs
  • Provide information to other divisions such as HR, IT, Commercial teams etc.
  • Maintain the integrity of BI360 consolidation tool. Assist in completion of monthly "group" accounts
  • Consolidated accounts, balance sheets and cash flows.
  • Prepare annual financial budgets and monthly financial forecasts
  • Identify and report on any adverse cost trends, prepare what-if scenarios, initiate and analyze action plans to address the cost development
  • Prepare the annual Cap Ex plan and regularly report on the execution progress. Ensure timely capitalization of new assets and identify possible idle assets.
  • Review investment proposals in terms of costs, expected pay-back and risks

The job holder adheres to all of the company’s Ethics, Compliance, HS&E policies and undertakes necessary training and re-training to ensure full understanding of the latest policies

 

 

 

What you’ll need:

 

  • Professionally qualified accountant (e.g. CIMA, CA, ACCA, ACMA) with relevant post qualification experience.
  • Experience of working in a commercial environment
  • Previous analytical experience in financial analysis, accounting or related discipline
  • Good understanding of MI systems.
  • Strong report writing and communication skills
  • Integrity and confidentiality
  • Good technical accounting skills.
  • Strong control background and interest in the business
  • Strong analytical ability and excellent numerical skills, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proven experience and ability to work to tight deadlines with a drive for results.
  • Flexible self-starter with high level of initiative, drive, investigative skills with strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines within a team environment.
  • Excellent IT skills and full proficiency in Microsoft Office, in particular advanced Excel capability.
